Day 16 on the Medical Medium Protocol – Celery Jackpot!
I packed up my smoothie to take to the Farmer’s Market again today (I never seem to get up early enough to get my lemon water, celery juice AND smoothie in before going to the market).
This time I put it into a larger plastic wide-mouth container.
Good thing, because it completely congealed by the time I got to the market. I was glad I brought a spoon with me in case it did. Otherwise, I don’t know how I would have gotten it down without being covered in blueberry drips and splats!
We hit the celery jackpot!
Our local grocery store is having a sale — celery for $.98. After having to pay $2.50 to $3.50 per bunch, this is a huge bargain. We bought 20 bunches!
Too bad its not organic. But it looks plump, fresh and succulent — not the skinny, dry celery we’ve been getting at twice the price.
This should hold us through the end of the 28 days.
But where will we put it? We bought 15 bunches earlier in the week when the sale started and there are still some left, filling up the refrigerator.
Good thing I have an ice chest about the right size for them.
I’m going to freeze some water in small water bottles and put it in the ice chest with the celery and keep it cool that way. I’m going to put freshly frozen water bottles in the ice chest every night and morning, and that should keep it cool enough…
I did it!
Here’s the cooler full of celery. Its pretty cool in there. Cool enough for celery.
Changing the subject, my husband is feeling tired again. But he’s surprised he has the energy to do some heavy yard work, in 108 degree (42.2222 Celsius) weather, no less!
I wonder if all that celery has something to do with it.
Summer has really arrived. This heat wave proves it.
Sadly, my lettuce all bolted once the temperature reached 100 degrees (who could blame them after a cold, wet winter), but the cucumbers and squash are loving it!
