Day 15 on the Medical Medium Protocol – Two Whole Weeks!
Today marks exactly two weeks since we started the Medical Medium Protocol!
We’ve made it this far, and I’m sure we can make it all the way.
My husband is getting tired of the meal monotony, but for me, slight variations, like eating apricots or papaya for my snack, or using a “spring mix” salad blend vs. plain old spinach, is keeping me interested for the time being.
I’m enjoying not worrying about what to make for dinner, since I know EXACTLY what to make every dinner.
There IS a lot of prep involved in the snacks and meals (it takes me a half hour to prepare just the salad and dressing), but its still less time than cooking a normal dinner.
The thing that takes the time, though, is that you have to prep either a snack or a meal every two hours, and that does get laborious. But as we’ve become familiar with everything and gotten into a groove, things are going a lot faster and smoother.
Shopping for produce also takes a lot of time. And it takes some time to figure out where to shop for the best produce at the best prices. We now have a routine — we know where to shop and when we need to restock. Everything is so much easier than it was the first week, when we didn’t know how much of anything we needed and were running to the store every day.
I have lost about 12 to 14 pounds so far, and I hope I keep losing. I can’t be exact because my scales have tiny little markers that I can’t see very well any more (and I don’t have room for a bigger scale). Maybe I should get a pair of binoculars to read the scale, LOL!
I’m sure most of the weight I’ve lost was water weight (I was so bloated). From now on weight loss will probably slow down. That’s OK, as long as I keep losing.
My husband lost as much weight as I did or more, but today he added three pounds. That’s unexpected, but he’s happy about it since he doesn’t need to lose weight like I do.
My energy levels have been pretty good all week (except for occasional drops) and my body feels a lot lighter. My legs and low back are more flexible. Its much easier for me to get out of my chair and walk those first few steps without arthritis pain.
Before this, my body felt extremely heavy and stiff by evening (especially my legs and low back), and those first few steps out of a chair were very stiff and uncomfortable. I had to stoop over for a few steps until I could straighten up. That’s not to say its easy to bend over and pick something up yet, but it is easier.
I slept great last night after yesterday’s swim. So it turns out that swimming two hours did me good, in spite of being exhausted afterwards. Today I have more energy, and that’s a good sign.
