Day 22 on the Medical Medium Protocol – Sandwich Temptations, Part 2
I started the day off fine, but this evening, I am exhausted. As exhausted as I used to get. Intense pain comes and goes on the right side of my head, and I’m too tired to do anything.
For several days now, I’ve been feeling like the detoxification is getting deeper and deeper. I hope that’s all it is.
I had blood tests done just before I started this diet and went in for a review of them today. Everything was normal except my cholesterol, which was more elevated than ever (it has been a problem for years). I’m hoping the wild blueberries, bananas, cilantro, kale, celery, and all the other great fruits and veggies help clear things out.
I’m too tired to make the tomato/spinach soup. We made do by eating sliced tomatoes and raw spinach.
My husband is very tired also, but strangely, he has the energy to do yard work.
This morning, his hands were again not numb when he woke up, even though they were crossed when he woke up and all his weight was on them.
Interestingly, today was his day of temptation for… you guessed it, SANDWICHES! He found himself in the middle of a group of foodies at the barber’s.
The barber, the customer in the next chair over and the guys waiting on the bench were discussing the incredible sandwiches one can get in New York — particularly the massive corned beef sandwiches piled high with meat… and how incredibly tender, succulent, and delicious they are!
They went on and on describing every juicy detail and how these huge sandwiches are impossible to bite through at 8 inches tall … and the inventive ways they accomplished the task.
They continued to gush about the best places to get roast beef sandwiches all over the country, along with the best sides to get with them.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the conversation then shifted to twice-baked potatoes, all the toppings that can be piled on top of baked potatoes, and other creative ways to make potato dishes. Then about food magazines… the newest pots and pans for specialty dishes… and what they’ve been cooking lately.
… All while my poor husband was sitting silently in the barber’s chair, helplessly visualizing every detail, seeing the sandwiches and twice-baked potatoes in his mind’s eye, practically smelling the aromas… and drooling. Poor guy.
As hard as it was for him to listen to those mouth-watering, real-life experiences, the good thing is that there was no way to get his hands on one of those delectables in the immediate future — at least not while sitting in a barber’s chair on the other side of the continent.
Saved by distance!
