Day 20 on the Medical Medium Protocol – The Thing About Thyme Oil
Thank goodness, its another day and sandwich cravings are behind me (at least I won’t be going to Costco to test that out today).
I’m also going to try to keep my mind on more productive things. Right?
This morning, the banana-blueberry smoothie congealed right inside the Vita-Mix immediately after blending it — before I even had a chance to pour it out! I guess some blueberries gel up faster than others.
I just couldn’t get it to pour out and needed to use a spoon to scoop it out of the blender and then to eat it.
Some smoothie shops call this an energy bowl, breakfast bowl or other, similar catchy name. They put a gelled smoothie in a bowl and garnish it with fruit and shredded coconut on top.
It’s lovely and makes a nice breakfast. They usually also add some sort of granola or nuts on top, which I won’t do for the 28-Day Cleanse (but maybe later — adding things like hemp seeds, almonds or walnuts and some chia, with mango or more banana and berries on top would be very healthy ).
Many places also mix yogurt into the energy bowl. That’s another thing I won’t do. I’m just surprised the basic gelled bowl is happening in my blender almost every morning, without any extra effort on my part, LOL!
Freezing and changing the ice for the cooler is proving to be quite a chore. Sometimes I forget and then the celery gets too warm. We’re going to start looking for a small refrigerator to put in the garage.
Thyme oil
I heard Anthony say that thyme is good for the Epstein Barr Virus. I happened to have some very high quality thyme oil on hand. So I decided to apply some to the back of my neck and under my ears and over my liver and spleen.
Yeeeoooh!
There’s one thing about thyme oil I quickly remembered – its HOT!
By “hot” I mean it burns like a hot pepper on tender skin. I could hardly stand it.
I rushed to cover it with the first open bottle of oil I had in the refrigerator — organic sesame oil. Any oil would do. It look a lot of sesame oil before the burning subsided.
I decided to play it safe and added quite a bit of sesame oil to the bottle to dilute it so it wouldn’t burn the next time, or my skin would peal. Must be careful about that.
Thyme essential oil (Thymus vulgaris) contains the powerful antioxidant thymol that supports the immune system. It has a strong flavor when added to foods and recipes. It is a very potent “hot” oil, meaning it will burn like a hot chili pepper when applied to the skin. That is why it is important to either mix it with a carrier oil, or layer a carrier oil or vegetable oil over it when applying.
