Day 1 on the Medical Medium Protocol – My First Smoothie
This is the big day! I’ve got my bananas, kale, cilantro, blueberries and dates on the counter and I’m tossing them all into my gorgeous, new Vitamix Ascent A2300 Blender and taking them for a spin!
Blending fruits and vegetables seems very strange to me. I’ve always heard they should not be mixed in the same meal — but what do I know. I’ll follow the directions and put all the ingredients in.
There they go!
Whoa, this Vitamix does some serious blending!
So here goes …
To your health!
Na zdorov’ya!
à votre santé!
Salute!
Mmmm, the banana smoothie tastes pretty good, except for a strange… something.
Is it the blueberries? The dates? The cilantro?
Most likely the cilantro. But it didn’t totally ruin it. The smoothie is still good.
It’s also a lot to get down. Three bananas, a lot of kale, cilantro, and a cup of berries mixes up to a lot more than I thought. I might have to cut down to two bananas, rather than three. My husband, however, has no problem with three bananas and a cup of blueberries and a ton of kale.
Two hours later, it’s time to swallow the same amount again. I don’t know if I can do it.
… (later that day)…
OK, I did it, but it took some effort. I don’t think I can swallow that much again tomorrow.
Within hours of beginning the cleanse, I can feel I am detoxing. There’s a certain feeling that comes over me. It’s like my organs get jittery and wonder “What’s up?” And then they flip a switch and go into a different mode.
My legs are super stiff and I’m having a hard time bending them and walking. I’m feeling very tired.
My entire spine and back ache. My liver and spleen ache. It feels like the Epstein Barr Virus had filled up my guts, moved up to my liver and spleen, then my lungs and my thyroid and even my head. I really suspect I’ve had low-grade EBV in my spleen for years, if not decades.
… (later that night)…
During the night, I got up three times to go to the bathroom, eliminating by the bucketful’s — another sign I’m cleansing very well.
I had to go to the dentist today to file down a partial crown he had put in on Friday after cleaning out the decay under the old crown. It was actually three fillings and a crown — all without anesthesia (it took me years to find a dentist who would actually drill and fill a deep filling without anesthesia… and without silver mercury fillings). He did a stellar job, and I managed it without flinching too much, but the crown needs to be filed down just a touch.
I’m so glad I had the intense work done before I started the cleanse. I’m feeling way too “exposed” to go through that much pain today. The first few days of a detox is always an adjustment for the body and things can be a little shaky.
The filing was quick, but the polishing totally rattled my brain! It felt like a jackhammer on the teeth!
I’m sure it scrambled my brain!
I walked out with a whopping headache!
But now I can comfortably chew on my new crown and I guess it’s worth it! There’s nothing like having a problem with your teeth to start appreciating them!
