Day 35 -Breaking the Medical Medium Protocol, Day 3
Today was a long day that started early and required taking salads and snacks with us in an insulated bag with a small block of ice.
This time, I put the smoothies into plastic containers. They were much lighter and easier to carry than the glass containers I used last time.
Everything went smoothly and the salad was cold, crisp and delicious.

I found a big box of some tasty humus cups in handy, portable containers at Costco. It’s one of the few on the market without vinegar, preservatives or additives.
Each little “tub” holds 2 oz. — perfect for a lunch box! It goes really well with celery sticks, carrots and the salad –and is just the right size for one serving.
Chickpeas, in general, are very healthy and provide protein — and are tasty. A little tahini and seasonings mixed in makes the chickpeas even tastier. So these little humus cups are great!
We were so busy today, we missed the after-salad snack and went 4 hours without food, but didn’t even notice. Normally, I get light-headed if I’m an hour late, but today, I was fine. I’m sure the protein in the humus helped, but overall, I’ll take that as a good sign that my body is getting stronger.
