Day 33: Breaking the Medical Medium Protocol, Day 1
Today is the big day! We’re officially breaking our Medical Medium detox protocol — which we extended from 28 days to 32 days. We would have stayed on it longer, except we have a family event coming up soon involving a lot of fabulous food we want to prepare ourselves for. Not to gorge, of course, but just to be able to handle a larger variety of foods than we’ve been eating for a month without shocking our digestive system.
So I cooked up the giant zucchini we grew in our garden and we enjoyed it with our salad. It was superbly delicious!
This particular type of zucchini (Cocozelle) grows large and grills up and bakes very well because its denser than the usual zucchini (not as watery). A quick and easy way to prepare it is to slice it into 1/2 slices, season with a tiny bit of sea salt and my special seasoning blend, put on a non-stick cookie sheet (or use parchment paper like I did) and bake it.They can also be cooked on a grill-type pan on the stove-top and seasoned at the very end. I often do it that way.
My husband went, “WOW! Its like eating real food!
Yes, it’s the realest of food. Straight from the garden.
I’m looking forward to more — and I can see there will be more. There are several more monster zucchini “torpedos” in the garden ready to pick.
So I’m sure we’ll have zucchini tomorrow… and the next day… and the next….
But we never tire of it. Summer is too short, and we have to wait all winter to get more straight out of the garden.
