Day 28 on the Medical Medium Detox Diet – Graduation Day

Wow! We’ve reached Day 28!
We’ve completed the full 28-Day Medical Medium Protocol!
Fantastic!
We celebrated by having our blueberry banana smoothie in champagne glasses!
I’m feeling really good today, but my husband is tired. He’s had many good days lately, but today just isn’t one of them. So I’ll focus on my progress.
The amazing improvements I have experienced over the last 28 days were put to the test today. We’re helping a friend choose a house and went house hunting. There are lots of beautiful new homes for sale nearby and plenty of two-story models to explore.
The thing is, climbing stairs is murder on my knees and leg muscles! I figured I’d be limping for a couple of days after climbing a bunch of stairs.
Not this time! I climbed up and down at least a dozen staircases today (mostly without holding on to the rail) and for the first time in years, my knees and legs didn’t hurt or tighten up. This is incredible in itself!
More Improvements…
The other incredible thing is that I didn’t get tired. Normally, climbing up and down even a few staircases wipes me out. But when I got home, I still felt energetic. That’s amazing!
I’ve lost about 18 pounds so far. It could be a little bit more, but its very hard to tell with my bathroom scales since the numbers are so tiny and each notch is two pounds. Even with stronger glasses, its really hard to read. I’ll have to wait until I go to my doctor’s and get an official reading.
My husband lost about the same amount. Even better, his blood pressure dropped from the 150’s (top number) to a steady 112 – 116/62 . For a man whose blood pressure was 188 (top number) for quite a stretch, this is great news!
All in all, during the 28 days of the Medical Medium Protocol: I lost weight, my energy and vision improved, my head pain and brain fog has lessened and I have a clearer head. My digestion improved dramatically and my lipoma shrank. The intestinal and uterine cramps I had for years also seem to have subsided, and that’s a welcome relief! I won’t know for a couple of months how much my cholesterol changed, if any.
My husband also lost about the same amount of weight I did. He had a significant drop in his blood pressure and an increase in energy level. The stabbing pains in his head went down from 4-6 episodes of intense stabbing pain a day to only 4-6 much milder episodes a week — which is a huge improvement.
Not bad for 28 days.
Did we cheat?
The big question my friends ask me is — did we cheat? Did we sneak a cookie here and there, or a piece of chocolate?
I’m happy to report that we did not… well, almost. My husband succumbed to a coffee sample at Costco, which wouldn’t have been so bad if he hadn’t added cream and sugar.
But it was a very small sample, only about 2-3 oz.
The closest I came to cheating was eating an extra date just two or three times. That really doesn’t constitute cheating because dates are on the diet and Anthony William recommends eating a date when you have cravings.
Generally speaking, we we not hungry, the food was tasty (except the spinach-tomato soup which you already know is not my favorite), very nourishing and we got tremendous benefit from it.
Are we more in tune with nature?
All that Anthony promises about being more in tune with nature, foods and with yourself at the end of the 28-day-cleanse is true. I have a sense of the nutritional quality of the food when I put it on my lips now. I feel the strengthening effects and the energy boost as it enters my system. The smallest piece of fruit gives lots of strength to the body. Its a wonderful thing. Its being tuned into nature.
I also feel the harm if I ingest something that I didn’t know had chemicals in it. I get a stomachache or a headache right away. I used to be that way before, but it took much more of the food or beverage. Now, just a little bit will do it.
Its not the same for my husband. He still craves his favorite foods and has to go to Costco for a few samples every now and then. But I have noticed that he is enjoying and appreciating his fruits and vegetables much more. He actually looks forward to his smoothie or grilled zucchini. He even sometimes asks if I can make some grilled zucchini for dinner!
For a man who never ate vegetables until he met me, that’s a vast improvement!
Is the Medical Medium Protocol dangerous?
I’ve read comments on the web that warn against this “dangerous” detox diet. Thing is, they never mention what exactly they think is so dangerous.
I fail to see any danger in it. We ate the most nutritious superfoods, sustained our blood sugar levels very well by maintaining a steady stream of glucose to the brain. We got good oils from the avocado, and even some great bio-absorbable protein from the spirulina, leafy greens and other veggies.
Many people are concerned about not getting enough protein for 28 days. Having been on several detox cleanses before, I knew this would not be a problem. In fact, this cleanse provides more protein than most. Its just that it comes from foods that are not normally associated with protein.
And the truth is, I wasn’t digesting protein at all before I started the cleanse. I got an upset stomach with nausea, bloating and diarrhea after every protein meal. Something was definitely off.
A couple weeks of drinking celery juice fixed that, and now I can eat protein without a problem. I’m thrilled about that!
Some people are concerned about the lack of dairy in the diet. But how many adults can really digest dairy anymore, anyway? Most adults have lost the enzyme to digest it and have a hard time with dairy. I certainly did. Taking all dairy out of my diet has been good for me.
What next?
We’re going to keep going.
After a bit of discussion, my husband and I decided to extend the cleanse a few more days. We do have to get our digestive systems ready for eating normal food in a couple of weeks, when we’ll be attending a big family celebration with lots of tasty and fatty foods. But a few more days won’t get in the way.
After that, we’ll start introducing other foods and go on a modified version.
So stay tuned and see how our next 28 days go…
